As the New Year unfolds and families across the nation gather in celebration, the world's largest clean energy corridor has remained steadfast, sparing no effort to ensure a stable and robust energy supply throughout the Spring Festival holiday. From February 15 to 23, the corridor achieved a historic milestone by generating approximately 4.79 TWh of electricity—the highest output ever recorded during the Spring Festival period. With an average daily power generation of 530 million kilowatt-hours, this output was sufficient to meet the daily electricity needs of 180 million people. This remarkable performance has delivered a warm and reassuring "power gift" to the entire country.
Functioning as the operator and manager of the world's largest clean energy corridor, CYPC, under the guidance and support of the Changjiang Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources, State Grid Corporation of China, and China Southern Power Grid, meticulously ensured power supply during the Spring Festival, deeply integrating work safety with energy supply assurance efforts. During this period, the Company intensified equipment inspections and operational management, promptly identifying and rectifying potential hazards. This ensures that generating units can ramp up production and deliver full capacity during critical periods. The Company also strictly enforced duty rosters and information reporting procedures, maintaining 24/7 coverage at key positions and ensuring executive leadership on-site to guarantee safe, stable and orderly operations. The Company enhanced meteorological and hydrological forecasting, closely monitoring temperature fluctuations and inflow changes within the river basin. Specific scheduling schemes were formulated for the Spring Festival period, striking a balance between multiple tasks—such as equipment maintenance, ecological scheduling of reservoirs, and water replenishment for navigation—thereby securing a reliable energy supply for the holiday season. By closely coordinating with grid load demands and optimizing the operation strategies of its cascade hydropower plants, the Company efficiently delivered clean electricity to millions of households. During the holiday, over 1,200 employees stayed on the front lines to ensure the safe and stable operation of the strategic national infrastructure through their strong sense of responsibility and unwavering dedication, thereby guarding the peace and warmth of millions of homes.
